Bowls Bay of Plenty is on the lookout for a well-organised, enthusiastic and energetic Centre Manager to help manage and develop the game for all ages. This is a mainly Monday to Friday sports management and administration role of 30 hours per week operating around a bowling calendar. The Centre Manager will be employed as a Contractor. The work is varied and interesting – one minute you are taking minutes at a Board meeting and the next you are discussing future plans with stakeholders such as Bowls NZ and commercial partners.
We are seeking a person who has:
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to accurately report information. You will act as secretary at all Bowls Bay of Plenty meetings.
- Organisational skills with the ability to adapt during periods of high workload and to meet deadlines. You will manage day to day tasks in a timely manner and ensure the President is informed of any emergency issues.
- Finance nous to ensure financial reports and budgets are updated and available as required.
- The commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team and to be flexible in a changing work environment.
- A marketing bent to initiate and follow up on sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with a nominated Board member.
- The ability to write grant applications.
- Website management skills and knowledge of Xero Online.
You don’t need to be a bowler but a background or interest in sports administration would be advantageous. The position is based in Tauranga with some Bay-wide travel.
